Taraweeh and Ittikaf will continue in mosques

ISLAMABAD (Muhammad Tahseen) The federal government has extended a partial lockdown in the country due to the Corona virus for two more weeks, but Chairman Royat Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has said that there will be no further lockdown in mosques. Taraweeh and Ittikaf will continue.

Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club, he said that we would follow the precautionary measures given by the government. A Muslim is required to pray in Ramadan so mosques will be open with caution. Taqi Usmani said that the sick should pray at their homes, remove the carpet from the mosques and ensure the availability of the sanitizers; all people should be in Wudhu and wear masks. After prayer, people should be careful not to crowd. Mufti Taqi Usmani demanded the government not make arrests in mosques and release those arrested.

Chairman Royat Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that lockdown would not apply to mosques from today and the principle of social distance in mosques would be considered. He added that the prayer taraweeh and Ittikaf will continue in the mosques during Ramadan. He said that if the government did not take action, it will lose the confidence of the people.
